Nigel Worthington said he was pleased that his side were able to match Coventry ‘on the physical side’ of the game but admitted the first ten minutes cost the Canaries the three points.

Goals from Davenport(40mins)and Fleming(84 mins) brought Norwich City back from the brink of yet another loss following a terrible first 10 minutes that saw Coventry stroll into a two goal lead.

Worthington told the official site: ‘We matched Coventry on the physical side which was what I was pleased with. But the first 10 minutes – you cannot afford to do that. It’s beyond belief how that happens.’

Norwich have conceded eleven first half goals in the last four away games.

The Canaries boss added: ‘But we’ve come back well and got something out of the game and possibly, if we had concentrated for the first 10 minutes we could have got all three points.’

Norwich had the chance to complete the turnaround with a Paul McVeigh header that the players believed had crossed the line, but the assistant ref disagreed and the goal didn’t stand.

Worthington, in an obvious impression of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger (!) said ‘I couldn’t see it at that moment in time. But the lads seemed to think it was a goal. But the referee and officials didn’t give it and that’s the end of the matter for me.’
