Craig Fleming has dismissed talk that Nigel Worthington had lost the dressing room as ‘absolutely ridiculous’.

The club captain said he wasn’t surprised at that the harsh words from Worthington after the defeat to Wolves. Worthington called the team ‘spineless’ and told them to look the word ‘honesty’ up in the dictionary in an uncharacteristic public attack on the players.

Fleming said ‘I’m not surprised, to be brutally honest. He’s taken a fair bit of stick and I think it’s not always down to him. Whichever XI is picked, they have got to go out and do it. That’s not pointing fingers at anybody, but whoever gets picked for Norwich has got to go out and give it everything they have got.’

He also rubbished claims the manager had lost the dressing room:

‘It’s a ridiculous statement,’ he said on the official site. ‘I’ve heard rumours and press men say stuff and it’s just ridiculous. I’ve seen it before in my career when things aren’t going very well – people point fingers. He hasn’t lost the dressing room at all. I had that once in my career here a long time ago and it’s nothing like that. We are all desperate to do it for ourselves, for him, for the coaches, for the fans – for everyone.’
