Inspired by a similar article on F365, here is a list of things I really hope don’t happen this season, but sadly I think we all know they will…

1. The media to portray us as more than just ‘happy to be here’ every. Single. Week.

2. Every video package featuring Norwich to include something other than a) Delia b) the most Norfolk person you will ever see saying ‘let’s be havin’ you’ or c) a group of lunatics screaming ‘come on’ into the camera.

3. Paul Lambert not to be linked with every vacant job in the country.

4. City fans to stay calm on Twitter when #3 doesn’t happen.

5. Neil Warnock to admit that QPR are nothing without Taarabt.

6. Samba De Janiero to NOT blast out of the sound system at Carrow Road whenever we score a goal. It was quite good fun 10 years ago but it just makes us look silly now.

7. The Carrow Road crowd to not be coaxed into a droaning rendition of ‘On the Ball City’ moments before kick-off. See #6 for why.

8. The club’s official SMS service (25p per pop) to send some official news before it has already been announced, for free, via Twitter and the official site.

9. Commentators and pundits not to refer to Holt as a ‘good old-fashioned centre forward’.

10. Commentators and pundits not to refer to Holt as a ‘good, honest pro’.

11. The media not to tip us for relegation two games into the season.

12. Nobody to ring Canary Call and utter the words: ‘If we can’t beat at home then we don’t deserve to be in the Premiership.’

13. Grant Holt to re-join Twitter.

14. Mad Marc Tierney to join Twitter.

15. Wayne Rooney to square up to Tierney after a ‘robust’ challenge only to have his little spud head knocked clean off his shoulders.

16. Sky Sports/ESPN to interview a sane supporter before a game.

17. The Fraser Forster talk to not start up again in January.
