Could Norwich Defender Make Earlier Than Expected Return?

|

Christoph Zimmermann could return to action a lot earlier than first thought according to a report by City fan Charlie Wyett, in The Sun.

Zimmermann has been out since injuring his ankle in a nasty challenge by West Ham’s Sebastien Haller, early on in the Canaries’ 2-0 defeat at the London Stadium back in August but Charlie says that Zimbo has responded well to treatment and could even be back in light training soon and return to the first-team in November.

If accurate, that would be a massive boost for City, who have been playing with only one recognised central defender, Ben Godfrey, for the last month or so.

Timm Klose has a knee injury that will likely keep him out for the rest of the season, Grant Hanley has a lingering groin problem and even Godfrey has been playing in pain with a hernia.

Ibrahim Amadou has had to fill in alongside Godfrey, who had an operation in Munich earlier this week to sort the hernia issue out. It is hoped he will have recovered in time to face Bournemouth in two weekends’ time.

Fingers crossed that Charlie has the inside track on this one…
