Norwich Being Linked To Leeds And Liverpool Players

|

Norwich City continue to be linked with all and sundry as spring turns towards summer and today is no exception.

The news that Timm Klose has signed a new deal was announced late afternoon on Monday with the media outlets doing their best to talk up Norwich as major players in the transfer market.

There are two new names today, with Leeds’ Kalvin Phillips being linked to the Canaries by a couple of outlets, including the Daily Mail.

There are all sorts of issues with this one, the first being the price.

Phillips was shown to be an excellent defensive midfielder during the season and his inclusion in the EFL Championship team of the year underlined that. He’s at a good age, 23 and is a Leeds academy product with two years left on his Elland Road contract.

Depending on which report you read, the price is between £12-15m, which would surely put him out of City’s reach, although the “Feeder club” gags would be priceless on social media.

Southampton and Bournemouth are also reportedly keen, which adds more difficulties to the chances of it happening. If I’m honest, I can’t see it but I’m sure he’d be a great addition to the squad.

The other player being linked is Liverpool defender, Conor Masterson and this report comes from HITC Sport.

Masterson is being released by Liverpool as the Red’s U23 squad is overhauled. The Republic Of Ireland U21 International has never actually made a first-team appearance but did Captain the club’s U18 side.

Available for free and at a good age, 20-year-old Masterson is unlikely to be short of offers this summer and seems much more likely to be a realistic target for Norwich.
