Norwich City Close To Signing Slovakian International

|

Norwich City are closing in on the signing of Slovakian International, Ondrej Duda according to a report from Transfermkt.de.

Duda is an attacking midfielder with Hertha Berlin in the German Bundesliga. He’s 6’ tall and plays as a “number 10”, a position that City have struggled to get to work this season.

Last season, Marco Stiepermann was the club’s number 10, perhaps surprisingly replacing James Maddison in the role. However, Marco has struggled to impose his Championship form on the Premier League.

Kenny McLean has made a decent fist of it lately, at least winning headers, but it looks like a specialist is on Stuart Webber and Daniel Farke’s wish list.

Duda has 12 goals in 58 appearances for Hertha BSC and 5 goals in 35 appearances for Slovakia.

He is under contract until 2021 and valued at €13m by Transfermkt.com. He recently flew to Orlando with Hertha, who are currently on their winter break, but was absent from the squad on Wednesday evening for a friendly match with Eintracht Frankfurt.

In 2018-19 Duda scored 11 goals in 32 appearances for Hertha, providing 6 assists to boot.

However, under new coach Jurgen Klinsmann, 25-year-old Duda seems to be out of favour with only 7 league appearances this season.
