Norwich Confirm Coaching Appointment

|

Norwich City have confirmed the announcement of a new coach joining Daniel Farke’s backroom staff.

Christopher John was mentioned in German media reports at the weekend as being on the verge of leaving second tier side, SC Paderborn and joining Farke’s coaching team at Carrow Road.

John had held the role of assistant coach at Paderborn effectively replaces Matt Gill, who left for Ipswich.

John is 30 years old, retired in 2016 and was a midfielder at SV Lippstadt under Daniel Farke  before the City Head Coach joined Borussia Dortmund II, so that’s the link between the two men.

He was reported at the weekend in the German media to be joining City as a video analysis/coach but it remains to be seen what the actual role will be.

Looking at the photo on the club’s official Website it would seem that he was at work at Carrow Road on Saturday as he’s wearing a City coaching top on the pitch.

He’s travelled with the squad to Tampa Bay and the club are promising a catch up with him during the week.

Welcome aboard, Chris.
