Norwich In Four Way Tussle For Non-League Striker

|

Norwich City are in a four way tussle for the signature of Dagenham & Redbridge striker, Fejiri Okenabirhie reports The Sun via the Bristol Post.

The policy of Norwich City’s youth recruitment is becoming clearer as they look to pick up promising players for their Academy, although at 22, this lad looks more like one for the U23 development squad.

Okenabirhie is a product of the Arsenal Academy and left the Gunners for League One Stevenage before dropping down to non-League Harrow. The Daggers picked him up in 2016 and he’s currently rated as one of the best talents in the English non-League game.

This report suggests a value of £250k but financial issues for the Daggers could see him join for quite a bit less, something that has attracted a number of clubs like Reading, QPR, Bristol City and of course, the Canaries.

The lad made headlines recently when he scored a hat-trick for England C in their 3-2 win over Wales at Jenner Park.

He can play either as a striker or out wide and has ten goals in 33 appearances this season, although he missed six weeks of the season around the end of the year through injury. Eight of those goals have come since 6th January.
