Norwich Linked To La Liga Winger

|

Norwich City are being linked this morning with Celta Vigo winger and all round problem child, Emre Mor.

Mor is a seriously talented young lad but according to The Sun (I know), Celta are so fed up with him that they would consider letting him go for free, despite Mor having three years left on his contract. I’d be very surprised if that were the case.

Mor was born in Denmark and is of Turkish descent. He joined Borussia Dortmund in 2016 aged just 18 years old for a reported 7m euros and he played for Turkey at that summer’s European Championships, gaining 15 caps in two years for Turkey.

Here’s a montage of some of his skills while playing for Turkey. He’s an absolute baller, no doubt about it.

Mor quickly fell out with Dortmund’s then manager, Thomas Tuchel after seemingly failing to integrate into the team and letting his mouth run away with him and he was then sold for 14m euros to Celta Vigo (a transfer record for Celta) in 2017.

Mor’s continued ill-discipline keeps causing him trouble with poor time-keeping and back chat seeming to be the biggest issues, but his undoubted talent keeps earning him second chances with the teams he is contracted to. However, he only made 12 appearances, five of them being starts, last season.

All three newly promoted teams, Norwich, Sheffield United and Aston Villa are reported by The Sun, and found by transfer spotter Cory@iwritethings23, to be interested in him but with that sort of history, should City consider such a punt?

It sounds to me that this lad is probably more trouble than his undoubted ability is worth.

Despite Daniel Farke’s excellent man-management record, difficult characters are not going to be welcome in the Canaries’ dressing room which currently has a superb level of togetherness. It’s not worth risking that, no matter how good a player is.
