Norwich Linked To Premier League AND Non-League Defender

|

The season still has eight games left yet but the transfer rumour mill is in full swing with Norwich being linked to players left, right and centre.

The latest rumours involve two young prospect defenders, one from Premier League Liverpool and the other from non-League Leyton Orient.

According to The Sun the Canaries are involved in a three way battle with both Wolves and Brighton for the signature of Leyton Orient’s Dan Happe.

The 20 year old is impressing for the O’s as they fight to win promotion back to the football league. They currently top the National League and Happe has made 13 appearances for Justin Edinburgh’s side.

He is a left sided centre back and is also out of contract in the summer, meaning that a deal could be there to be done.

Another young prospect reportedly on City’s radar is Liverpool’s Conor Masterson. This story comes from TalkSport and talks about another highly rated young lad who is out of contract in the summer.

Masterson has made the bench under Jurgen Klopp this season but sees his path to the first team blocked by the likes of Virgil Van Dijk, Joel Matip etc.

20 year old Masterson is a Republic Of Ireland U21 International and the U21s Coach, Stephen Kelly thinks Conor needs first team football.

“Conor is a bit of a crossroads,” Kelly said. “He is 20 now and needs to play games.

“Conor could look at his central defensive partner from our team, Darragh O’Shea, going to Exeter on loan. He’s developed by getting 30 games and is a year younger than Conor.”

TalkSport suggest that Liverpool want to extend Masterson’s deal and that, I suppose, is the decision for the lad.
