Norwich Midfielder Voted PFA Championship Player Of The Month

|

”Super” Mario Vrancic has been voted PFA Championship Player Of The Month for January after a public vote.

Vrancic was an ever-present for the month playing every minute of all four games against Brentford, West Brom, Sheffield U tied and Birmingham City.

Mario scored the second goal in the 3-1 win over Birmingham at Carrow Road and also provided the assist for Timm Klose in the 1-1 draw with Brentford at Griffin Park.

That’s not bad by itself but at the weekend, he had a national TV platform as he put in a man of the match winning performance against Leeds at Elland Road in the Canaries’ stunning 3-1 win and I imagine that may have brought him to the attention of a few more voters too.

He scored twice at Elland Road and it was his deflected shot that fell kindly for Teemu Pukki to score City’s second goal, so an assist of sorts there as well.

Vrancic was up against Tammy Abraham (Aston Villa), Said Benrahma (Brentford), Jarrod Bowen (Hull City), Rico Henry (Brentford) and David Raya (Blackburn Rovers) for the award.

Well done, Mario a thoroughly deserved winner.
