Norwich Set To Sign Defensive Midfielder After Agreement Reached

|

A little earlier today, we brought you news of the continuing and promising-sounding negotiations between Norwich City and Sevilla for the La Liga club’s defensive midfielder, Ibrahim Amadou.

You can read about that here.

It seems though since I wrote that article, things have escalated with various reports in Spain and France stating that a deal has been agreed between the two clubs and that the player will have a medical and all things being well, sign a one-year loan deal with the Canaries, perhaps as soon as today.

Estadio Deportivo, who have carried the story from the start, are now reporting the agreement between the two clubs and there are some financial details included.

The Canaries will pay all of Amadou’s wages for the year, which is apparently €3m and they will also pay a €1m loan fee. There is also an agreement in place to buy the player next summer for a figure of €9.5m.

Sounds like we might well have our new defensive midfielder…
