The Tuckster on reports from Portugal where a certain Mr Van Wolfswinkel was on fire in yesterday’s match away at Braga…

The Portuguese press have been less than supportive of Ricky Van Wolfswinkel since he announced his impending move to Norwich City.

Questions have been regularly asked which question the lad’s commitment to Sporting and whether or not he will ‘give his all’ between now and the end of the season.

However, that has all changed this morning with the Sports papers all covering a sensational hat trick that RVW scored yesterday in Sporting’s 2-3 victory over Braga.

After his hat-trick he was quoted by ‘Record’ as saying ‘I know it’s hard to explain to people, many think I’m in England (not literally of course). I want the best for the club, I want to give the best I have and to give the maximum. The fans deserve as much. It’s always bad to leave a club you like, but it is a new step in my career to develop. But the season is not over, I don’t want to think too much about the Premier League.’

Sports newspaper ‘O Jogo’ said ‘Ricky to give everything’ as they rubbish any doubts that he may not be fully focused on his job at Sporting.

They also go on to say what a great player Norwich City have got themselves.

The various Sports papers are also talking about RVW to City as potentially being the signing of the season.

If he comes near to doing what Michu has done for Swansea during this term then we are in for a treat.

This is all great, positive stuff and I for one can’t wait to see him pull on a Norwich City shirt. If only he’d signed in January…

Still, onwards and upwards, we have four more home games to get those few extra needed points we need. Lets make sure we do our bit to get the lads overthe line, starting against Michu et al at the weekend!
