Elliot Ward has joined Nottingham Forest on a two month loan – ironically to replace injured Canary Daniel Ayala.

Elliot Ward has today joined Nottingham Forest on a two month emergency loan deal.

Ironically, Forest manager Sean O’Driscoll has moved for Ward to provide cover for another Canary loanee.

Daniel Ayala, who is himself on a season long loan at Forest has suffered a hamstring injury which is likely to keep him out of action for several weeks.

Ward was the odd man out when City’s 25 man Premier League squad was announced at the start of the season and this move will give him a chance to get some regular football under his belt.

The midlands club are currently in
11th position in the Championship just two points away from the play off positions. O’Driscoll knows Ward well, having taken him on loan during his time as Doncaster Rovers manager in 2010.

Ward joined Norwich from Coventry City on a free transfer ahead of the 2010-11 Championship season, Ward has made 51 league appearances for the Canaries and scored one goal, coming in a 2-1 home win over Millwall.

All the best Wardy, hope it all works out for you.
