Confirmed: Young Norwich Midfielder Set For Hamilton Loan

|

Adam Phillips will spend the 2018/19 season on loan at Hamilton in the Scottish Premier League report HITC Sport.

Confirmed:

This is a well worn path for Norwich City’s youngsters, with Remi Matthews and Carlton Morris having previously spent seasons on loan at New Douglas Park. A decent relationship between the two clubs clearly still exists with ex-City manager, Alex Neil being the link.

Phillips joined Norwich last summer after being released by Liverpool and was initially a member of the U23 squad before being loaned to Cambridge United. Initially all was good but then a change of manager saw his game time limited with the U’s.

He came back to Norwich and played with the development squad while not getting game time, something which you would imagine did not please the likes of Stuart Webber and Neil Adams.

A full season out on loan will help Phillips, who is still only 20, stake a claim for the Norwich City first team. He is widely acknowledged as an excellent passer of the ball, among the best at the club, so he seems as though he has a bright future ahead of him in the game, having once been compared to a young Steven Gerrard.

He will, of course, be joined at Hamilton by another young Canary, Mason Bloomfield, whose own loan to the Accies was announced last month.

Good luck lads.
