Curtis Davies and Dean Bowditch!

The Tuckster with a quick transfer round up of rumours and the odd fact from today’s media…

Reports are circulating this afternoon that Norwich City have been rebuffed in a bid/enquiry for Birmingham City defender, Curtis Davies.

I read talk of this at lunchtime but Sky Sports are now reporting it.
Earlier in the month, The Blues pretty much put their whole squad up for sale as a result of crippling debts and a deal seems there to be done. Obviously his connection to Chris Hughton may also sell the club to Davies, should a deal be agreed.

After the recent leakiness of our back line, I have no doubt that Davies would be a good acquisition and his prospective arrival would most likely spell the end for Elliot Ward and Daniel Ayala and maybe Leon Barnett as well.

In other news, ex-canary, Simon Lappin who was released by the club last week has been snapped up by Malky McKay at Cardiff City on a free transfer.

With the Bluebirds (or should that be red birds these days) flying high and looking good for promotion this move is a great one for Lapps.

He is a top pro and may well find himself back in the Premier League sooner rather than later – good luck to him.

With just two days to go we are being linked with everyone and anyone – I`ve even read that we are interested in ex-Ipswich “wonder kid”, Dean Bowditch – give me a break?

Gary Hooper and RVW are still mentioned in every other report you can find and I also heard a whisper today that Grant Holt may be heading north if a deal or two can be done to bring in players to replace him. Apparently his family have moved back to Cumbria (anyone know if that`s true?) and he has been linked with Sunderland and Celtic.

I can`t believe that Holt would be allowed to go if only one striker signs – he is our most effective current striker and there are reports that Leeds want Morison if Becchio goes and Wolves still want Jackson.

There will have to be some big surprises in the next day or so if any of this is to come to fruition.

Watch this space – more when we have it?
