Emi Buendía Actually Cost Norwich £5.5m

|

Emi Buendía has ended up costing Norwich City a lot more than the often quoted £1.5m, with the final fee being around £5.5m.

Before anybody accuses me of making something up here, our Twitter transfer expert Cory@iwritethings23 has the detail courtesy of Marca in Spain.

I first heard this a few weeks ago from a source (I can’t name, sorry) who heard it from “his” source – cryptic, I know.

Anyway, this Marca article backs it up.

The initial fee was, I understand, £1.5m and City have just made the second payment due of £2m with another £2m to be paid to Getafe in the future.

This was first reported on the Vital Norwich Forum on 30th May as a bit of an exclusive but not reported here in the wake of the Mick Dennis Twitter spat, after he accused me of not cultivating sources.

Anyway, the £5.5m is described as being “part of the player’s contract”by the Marca article, which I assume means there was a heavy emphasis on certain successes being made by club and Emi in various clauses.

Whatever, in the current market £5.5m is still an absolute bargain.

You should get yourself over to the Vital Norwich Forum, you know, there’s all sorts of stuff going on.
