Who will sign him?

It is looking better for Norwich ?

As the race for Neil Danns signature hots up, the possibilities of Birmingham City winning the race must be considered a little closer.

The Bluenoses have had a £3m fee agreed with Cardiff for Cameron Jerome, and the England under-21 striker is due to undergo a medical at St Andrews when he returns from holiday in Florida next week.

The deal could be worth a further £1.5m to the Bluebirds, depending upon goals, appearances and an immediate retun to the Premiership.

This sort of money is a huge gamble for a newly relegated side, and the chief executive must have one weather eye on the fortunes of Norwich City, Southampton and Crystal Palace last season. It could well be, therefore, that unless Steve Bruce ahs a transfer budget that would match Ipswich’s bid to stay in the Premiership, then there will be little left over to compete for the likes of Neil Danns.

So it is now down to Nigel Worthington to act; or will he just open another stubby and relax in the sun while all of the transfer activity that only happens in mid-June goes on under his nose, leaving players available that, for example, have served nine clubs in nine years and never been paid for until he came to Norwich?

You better wake up, Mr Worthington, or the bus will pass your stop yet again…
