Norwich Announce Two New Signings – Defender And Striker

|

Norwich City have announced a double signing this evening with the news that defender, Akin Famewo and striker, Gassan Ahadme have signed on with the Canaries.

Famewo was expected, after first being reported as happening last night by HITC Sport as reported here. He was in the middle of a season-long loan at Grimsby Town, which has been curtailed by the transfer, no doubt much to Grimsby’s disappointment.

The other though came a little out of left-field as City also announced the signing of Moroccan striker, Ahadme from Spanish side Gimnastic de Manresa who play in Group 3 of the Division de Honor Juvenil, the top tier of the Spanish football league system for players aged 18 years and under.

Ahadme will have regularly come up against opposition from the likes of FC Barcelona, RCD Mallorca, Real Zaragoza and Girona FC. Last season, he was top scorer in the league with 10 goals and will play for the Canaries’ U18 and U23 sides to start with.

Famewo has signed from Luton Town, having joined the Hatters’ Academy aged 10 years and being at the Academy at the same time as Max Aarons and Jamal Lewis. He is a central defender who can also play at left-back and just like Ahadme, he will join up with the U23s initially.

Welcome to Norwich fellas!
