Norwich Will Face Wycombe Without Star Player

|

Norwich City will be without Todd Cantwell due to injury for Sunday’s trip to face Wycombe Wanderers, Daniel Farke told the assembled media at Friday’s pre-match press conference.

As ever, watching how things developed as Farke spoke, Vital Norwich Forum stalwart, FC Bears was watching and here’s his take on what was disclosed:

So a few injuries:

Cantwell out
Martin out
Gibson 50/50
Hernandez out at the moment.

Hernandez seems to be able to play 1 game at the moment and then gets an injury.

Cantwell might also miss Brentford. Gibson has to be careful with his back situation. Hernandez couldn’t finish the training session during the week with a bad dead-leg. Martin injured his foot.

Nyland is back in training.

Because he has been injured for so long the club are going to give him all the time he needs (his contract is up in the summer, DF).

He is able to be on the bench but DF says we have two good GKs so Nyland isn’t needed to come in – makes you wonder why we signed him?

DF saying that Gibson will be a late decision as he is our only left footed central defender and to have him missing is big – I do hope the club will look to bring in another left footed central defender (I think Famewo and Omobamidele are).

Interesting. DF says that the best teams in the world contact the club about their youngsters.

‘We have a great reputation as a club to develop players and the best clubs in the world call us and say -can you help us with this player and if it helps all parties then we can do this/ and you. Raw talents are in good hands with Norwich City and that good for us a club.’

DF says that as long as we are self-funded we will continue to produce youngsters and play them.

So guys, if we are sold then does that mean no more youngsters?

So, Cantwell and Martin out

Hernandez and Gibson 50/50.

Stipermann will play for the U23s today.

How would you go? I’d go:

Krul

Aarons
Hanley
Zimmermann
Gianno

Skipp
Sorensen

Placheta
Dowell
Emi

Pukki

I think DF will play Rupp as a left winger on Sunday!
